Before we moved I had decided I was going to do crafts to fill up my time here. I am no longer in school and right now only have one piano student. I have TONS of free time. Most of it is wasted unfortunately, but I'm going to try and do better. And also, sometimes crafts can be a little expensive. We are grad students so we don't really have money to spend on things like crafts. I need to find ones that don't cost anything. But when we first moved I made something for our front door. It's the picture of the Letter "C" below. I got the idea off Pinterest. It was a little more difficult than I had originally thought, but still pretty easy. I made the flowers without a pattern which I was pretty proud of myself. Then this last week I decided it was time to redo our couch pillows. When we bought our couch it came with some decorative pillows. But they were gold, green, red, and black. They matched the couch, but I wasn't too fond of the colors. I went to JoAnn's and found some fabric I really liked. I had originally planned on getting like a navyish color cause I knew that would match. But let's be real, it's the middle of summer, navy is not really a color you can find right now. I found fabric that was a Chevron pattern with a Navy color in it and thought that would work. Then I found fabric that had the same lighter blue that had a big paisley pattern on it. I TOTALLY fell in love with that fabric and my mind was made. Then I got a whitish color that was in both fabrics. I brought them home and also made these without a pattern, but really all that I needed to do was fold the fabric around the pillow, sew 2 sides, and then handstitch the last side. They were super easy! I really love them. The room they are in is pretty dark with only one window facing North so it doesn't get tons of natural light in it. These pillows really help brighten the room up which was what I was hoping for. Now to find the next craft to do... I take suggestions.
Super cute! My sisters and I do a monthly craft and we are always looking for cheap options. We did a couple of jar crafts with jars we just saved whenever one of us used storebought anything that comes in a jar :) Very budget friendly!!
