Field of Dreams

People in our ward decided to go to the Field of Dreams and invited anyone who wanted to go to go with them. I saw that movie probably 10 years ago so I don't remember it, but it was still fun. Apparently it is exactly the same as it was in the movie. It's only about an hour and a half from us so that was even better. We were hoping to play a pick up softball game with the ward members that came with us. When we got there though there were tons of people there. We walked around and read some signs and it says anyone can play and they don't allow organized games. So basically there is constantly people there hitting. Everyone just takes turns hitting. They hit for as long as they want. Nobody runs the bases and there are no outs, so that made it not quite as fun. We weren't able to play a game, but we still all got to hit.

Collin hit baseballs

I was too afraid and hit softballs instead

The corn acts as the back fence. The kids that were there loved to walk up and down the rows.
And yes, that is what all of Iowa looks like, covered in corn.

Oh, one more thing. It was FREEZING! Who would have thought that the last Saturday in July we would be wearing hoodies. It was a temperature record breaking low. It was only about 60 during the day. I was shivering the whole time we were there. But it was a lot of fun so it was okay.
